I’m A Audi Driving Soccer Dad - Jokes Aside

Being a single dad to a pair of 5 year old twin boys isn’t exactly a stroll in a park. Most notably so since its little league soccer season once again. This year yours truly is to be the main honcho for getting the team jerseys produced.

Being one of just three men among 13 women in our team’s committee, it was a little bit of an effort to persuade the majority of the committee to come to an agreement not to change the team’s jersey color from red to pink. But as much as we tried, we failed to change the team moniker to The Red Warlocks from The Red Flamingos.

After searching for team uniforms, and believe it or not - sponsors, I realized that our children’s soccer team did not have its own logo. I brought up this concern of mine with the other two dads and we came to a decision that it would certainly be a a great idea if we had our very own soccer team symbol. So we took it upon ourselves to draw up a logo concept each and show them to the committee.

All three of us met the coming weekend with our works of art and had a good laugh, before we realized that non of us could design to save our lives. Apparently my Flamingo looked more like a Woodpecker on questionable anabolic elements. The touted da Vinci like designs from the other 2 weren’t much better. One might pass for a piece by Picasso and the other looked like bored doodlings from a ill-fated victim of a 5 hour long department meeting. But we went forward and displayed the designs to the committee nevertheless.

Even though the committee collectively barred the three of us from designing anything club related until such time when a certain place freezes over, they did come to agreement that our soccer team should definitely have its own logo. So I enthusiastically went back home and surfed the net for logo design spain, shortlisted a handful of the more prominent design firms and gave them to the committee.

Now we are excited to say that our soccer team has, after all this time, got its very own original logo. We had logo patches made for the team uniforms and team stickers made for the fun of it - thanks to a small but adequate sponsorship we got from the ice cream shop around the corner. The team logo itself looks quite cool with a an unmistakeably red Flamingo standing on one leg and the other casually resting on a soccer ball with its wings crossed.

A little bird told me that next year yours truly will be in charge of liquid refreshments or more commonly known as water. I’m thinking of taking it a step beyond and am already planning to talk to Red Bull about a sponsorship contract.
